Laz has been playin' music since he can remember. He comes from a musical family with their roots deeply planted in the hills and hollers of West Virginia.
His Granddaddy was a Baptist preacher and Laz grew signing along to every song in the hymnal, learning to read shaped note music and play the guitar and banjo somewhere along the way.
He took his love of music with him to college where he spent a decade ass- deep in the vibrant music scene of Athens Ohio. From jazz to jam to punk rock, Laz embraced as many forms of music as he could get a hold of. Learning from the likes of John Hutchison, Pat Brown, Scott Winland and Chris Biester.
A good woman found Laz and saved him from himself. They raised two beautiful girls and now, after all these years, Hannah's finally lettin' Laz raise a little Cain.
Laz has been in Texas for nearly a decade now, nearly a fully reformed Yankee, and has had the pleasure to play with many a great artist and musician. And, at some of the most iconic venues in Texas.
Laz and the boys. Otherwise known as the Gringo Pistoleros. Are releasing the feel good country record of the year... THE RISE AND SUBSEQUENT FALL OF THE TEXAS ALIEN!!!
Until then, you might just find Laz playin' music anywhere throughout Texas Hill Country...
Laz is lucky enough to get to play keys with a group of very talented young musicians. The Vibes are a hard giggin', rock n roll band workin' both sides of the river.
My favorite spot to play with these cats is the White Tiger, ol' Botticelli's on S. Congress.
